What's included in your marquee hire price?

Updated: Feb 27

Welcome, party planners, nearly weds, and anyone with an extraordinary event to organise! In this week's blog post, we're talking about the finer details of marquee hire costs. Whether you're organising a lavish wedding, a milestone birthday bash, or a sophisticated corporate event, a stunning pole and canvas marquee is the perfect choice. But what exactly do you get as part of your marquee hire package when you go with Peacock and Bow? We'll break it all down for you, including some snazzy add-ons that can take your event to the next level.

The essentials: what's included in your marquee hire price

Bespoke hand-built bar

Designed and crafted by talented hands of Mr Peacock and Bow, our oak panelled bars are the classy way to serve drinks. They can also be used as an impressive looking DJ booth! This unique feature adds quality and style to your event, especially when placed around the King Pole in our larger marquees or in a separate chill-out tent. They bring the wow factor for sure.

The crescent bar is included with the following marquees:

  • Our 7.3 x 18.3 metre marquees, can be hired from £5000, and accommodate up to 60 guests. These marquees are ideal for ceremonies, reception drinks or any intimate gathering.

  • Our 9 x 23 metre marquees, which can be hired from £9000 and can accommodate up to 100 guests. These beauties bring elegance to any small to medium sized event

  • Our 9 x 30 metre marquees, which can be hired from £10,000 and can accommodate up to 140 guests. A majestic space for any medium to large event

The round bar is included in the hire price of all of our 12 metre marquees, these three, four and five peaked canvas palaces make the ideal party space for your large celebration:

  • Our 12 x 27 metre marquees can be hired from £12000 and hold up to 160 guests

  • Our 12 x 34 metre marquees can be hired from £13000 and hold up to 220 guests

  • Our 12 x 42 metre marquees can be hired from £15000 and hold up to 260 guests

Marquee flooring

Our premium matting is both eco-friendly and has the look and feel of natural coir. It's perfect for rustic or traditional-style weddings and events. It creates a protective barrier between the ground and the marquee, so if anyone hits the deck they’ll at least stay clean and dry. Although, the matting also provides a stable and level surface, so the risk of trips and tumbles are greatly reduced. We keep our flooring impeccably clean and sanitised so it will look brand new just for you.

Our matting flooring is included in the guide prices for all our marquees.

Internal fairy lights

Is there anything that transforms a space more than fairy lights? Think about it, when have you ever slung up a string of fairy lights and they haven’t instantly made even the dingiest student bedroom look like an enchanting cave of wonders? Create a magical inviting mood in your marquee with fairy lights, which we hang in a star formation from the King Poles.

Fairy lights are included in the guide price for all our marquees.

Flying lights above the canopy

Exclusive to Peacock and Bow, our flying lights hover above the canopy on the outside of the marquee, following the roofline's swoops. They bring bags of drama to your marquee's evening silhouette, turning it into a focal point that can be seen from miles around. They give off a vintage and retro vibe, igniting that warm feeling of nostalgia in your guests. They’re practical in that they help light the outside space. They also set the tone for romance and make for amazing and unique photos.

Tables and chairs

Make sure your guests can dine, take a load off and mingle in comfort with our high quality and stylish tables and chairs. Because no event is complete without these essentials! We have based our guide prices on our elegant and iconic Chiavari chairs. These chairs have a cushioned seat and are finished in lime wash.

Inside a Peacock and Bow pole and canvas marquee, trestle tables are dressed with white linen, floral arrangements and candles. Limewashed chiavari chairs with seat pads are positioned at each place setting

Our standard trestle table and chiavari chairs are included in the guide prices for all our marquees.

Auckland oak dance floor

Our Auckland Oak dance floor compliments the warm and natural aesthetic of our pole and canvas marquees, its smooth, durable surface can withstand all the knee slides and is easy on feet and joints, so your grandparents can keep jiving long into the night. The oak even makes the music sound better as it enhances the marquee's acoustics and reduces vibrations and echoing.

  • Our 12 x 42 metre marquees, which can be hired from £15000

Staging

Create a designated elevated performance space for live music, speeches, presentations, or any entertainment act. Make sure no one in the marquee misses a thing. Stages are also useful for keeping sound and lighting equipment out the way and ensuring light and sound are projected properly throughout the marquee. Make your stage a focal point by decorating it to match the theme of the event. Give your photographers and videographers the chance to use it as a backdrop or to capture the event from different angles.

For marquee events like conferences, corporate gatherings, or formal ceremonies, having a stage conveys professionalism and provides a prominent platform for speakers, panellists and presenters, making it easier for them to address and interact with the audience. The stage can also be used as a canvas for event branding, displaying logos, banners, or other visuals that reinforce the event's identity.

They won't be able to resist getting their groove on under the mirror ball’s dazzling reflections all around the vast expanse of canvas.

Upgrade your tables and chairs

For an extra £1 per chair you can customise your seating and dining experience by upgrading to our oak cross back chairs. Keep tushies comfy by adding seat pads for £3.80 each.

You can also upgrade to our wide trestle table for an extra £3 per table. The wide trestle also seats six but its width gives you extra space for eye catching centrepieces. Or, if you want to do a ‘family-style’ service, where food is placed on the tables on big serving dishes and everyone digs in and helps themselves. If you’ve ever seen an episode of River Cottage you’ll know what I mean.

We also offer our wide rustic trestle table for £8 extra per table, which is a beautiful solid wooden piece that doesn't require a tablecloth, even more River Cottage! If you're more River Cafe than River Cottage (this post wasn’t actually sponsored by Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall believe it or not), you might prefer our round tables for an extra £2 each on top of the guide price. These tables seat 10 to 12 guests, whereas all our trestle tables seat six.

Bentwood cross back chairs are positioned at long trestle tables inside a Peacock and Bow pole and canvas marquee. The tables are dressed with white linen and floral arrangements and foliage cascades from a flower ring hanging high in the canopy.

They provide plenty of space for seating and a vanity area and are connected to the main marquee via a colonnade. The hire fee is £3200. Remember, It ain't no party until you’ve congregated in the bathrooms with your besties!

Heaters - £480

If you’re having a classy winter wedding, or just want a backup in case the unpredictable British weather does a number on you, hire our marquee heaters to keep things toasty. Supplied with enough fuel for 12 hours of constant use, heaters are available for a cool £480.

What brings our guide prices down?

The above add ons will push the total cost of your pole and canvas marquee up. But, there are ways to bring it down.

  • Channel a bit of Bauhaus with our folding wooden chairs at £5 each, that's £1 cheaper per chair than the chiavari chairs. Perfect for a vintage theme

  • Opt for our small round tables, which cost £12 each, the same as our standard trestle. But, with their 1.5 metre diameter, the round tables seat up to 10 people, rather than the trestle's six, so you won't need as many

Inside a Peacock and Bow pole and canvas marquee, bentwood cross back chairs sit at round tables. The tables are dressed with white linen and wild flowers in small pots and bud vases form the centrepiece.

When you choose marquee hire for your big get together, you're not just renting a space; you're investing in an extraordinary experience. The included features and additional options provided by Peacock and Bow allow you to customise your event space to your heart's desire. So, make your next celebration unforgettable with a marquee that's not just a tent but a world of possibilities. Cheers to making memories, filled with charm, style, and good vibes!🥂
